Indian cuisine consists of
various spices, herbs, fruits and vegetables. Indian cuisine consists of a
regional and traditional cuisine native to the Indian subcontinent. India is a
very large country and it consists of mountains, plateaus and plains. Some places
are extremely cold while other places are hot and dry. Because of this, the
farmers grow many kinds of food-grains, vegetables and fruits in India.
The two most common
food-grains in India are wheat and rice. Indian edibles are delicious and nutritionally
balanced. No country uses a wider range of spices in its cuisine than India. Those
spices give Indian food its distinctively fragrance and flavor. Here we will
discuss about some most commonly used paneer dishes, chicken dishes, and fish
dishes also with the main food roti and rice.
ROTI

India. Most of the people eat roti in their daily meal. Roti consists of fiber,
which helps lower blood cholesterol levels, prevents constipation and helps
keep our digestive system healthy. People use mainly wheat flour to make roti. The
other types of roti are – ragi roti,
paratha, kulcha, rumali roti, puri, akki roti, naan, aloo paratha. Roti is often
greased with oil or butter or ghee. Sometimes people also add coriander, jira,
methi and other ingredients to make the roti more delicious.
RICE
India is

also known to have
cultivated thousands of varieties of rice and majority of people use rice in
their meal. Rice consists of a good amount of carbohydrate and more than 15
essential vitamins and minerals. It is a very quick energy source. Brown rice
which is whole-grain rice gives health benefits. Rice helps to move waste
through the digestive tract and helps lower cholesterol. People eat rice with
various ‘sabji’ but they also use rice in biryani, veg-pulao, etc.
DAL

Indian meal. People often use potato, bottle gourd to make it more healthy and energetic. Dal is a semi-liquid edible which can be made by various pulses. Dal
can be made by different style and every dish gives an exotic flavor with various
benefits to our body.
We can categories dal as three
forms –

Unhulled or
sabut (meaning whole in Hindi)

Split with hull
left on the split halves or chilka (meaning shell in Hindi)
·
Split and
hulled or dhuli (meaning washed)
Common dal ingredients are
pigeon pea dal, chana dal, mung dal, urad dal, masoor dal etc.

Paneer is very famous for the
vegetarians as they can replace it with meat or chicken. They make it in very

Fish is a well-balanced source

South India as India is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of
